Port Everglades to hold Public Environmental Stakeholder Meeting June 15
PORT EVERGLADES, FL (June 9, 2009) - Broward County's Port Everglades is inviting the public to an Environmental Stakeholder Meeting that will give participants an overview of the current work to update the 5-year Master Plan and 10 and 20-year Vision Plans.
This meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 15, 2009, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Port Everglades Administration Building in the First Floor Auditorium, which is located at 1850 Eller Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316. Participants will be required to show government-issued photo identification at the entrance gate to Port Everglades.
Through stringent government regulations and best management practices, Port Everglades is continuously working to sustain the ecosystem within Port Everglades. As the plans are updated to accommodate Port Everglades' anticipated growth, the Port is continuing to take steps to care for the surrounding environment, which is so vital to all Floridians.
"We are working to advance new ways to accommodate and manage increasing growth in an environmentally friendly manner," says Port Director Phillip C. Allen. "We would like the public's input as we work to identify the challenges and concerns from an environmental perspective."
