Water

During routine triennial  drinking water tests of 15 locations within the Port's water distribution system, six sites showed levels of lead in the drinking water were above 15 parts per billion (ppb), thus exceeding the action level established in the Federal primary drinking water regulation.  The levels of lead trigger an action where the EPA requires a public education program, additional testing, and other system investigation to determine the source and method of removal of the lead.

While the drinking water at Port Everglades is potable and safe to drink, public education about reducing the amount of lead consumption over a prolonged period is important.
